Summary:
Invisible is a movie describe people's life form Artic. Those people have wrong myths and believes which are eating sea dog meat is useful for them and warming them from freezing weather. In fact, they suffer of many diseases because of chemicals such as mercury and selenium which are harmful. The wrose dangers is on babies and pregnant women because women breastfeed their babies, so , they give them contaminant milk.
Response:
I was thrilled by this movie and I just realized how much cultures are different from my culture.
However, its hard to change people's believes because they are not educated. But the chance to help them is by protect and educate the new generation.

ReplyDeleteI saw the movie that name is "The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe".
Length: 2 hours 20 minutes
Summary:
The story is talking about four children, they are brother and sister. They go to the different world through a wardrobe. The first time, the youngest sister fines the fantasy world that called Narnia, but nobody believes her. In second time, they go to the Narnia together, the small brother meets a white witch and she gives him candies. She hopes he can bring his brother and sister to visit her. When he sees the white witch turn the human become stone, he sees with a horror. His brother and sisters will go to rescue him. The same time, the white witch wants to get all of the Narnia. They help a lion to resist white witch.
Reaction:
This is kind of a child movie. I like to watch many kids child movie, because I can be relaxed this time. Going to different world is every children’s dream. Sometimes I also want have many unreal dream, but the society make me need think about my life, so I lose my imagination.

Summary:
After 1300 years, Narnia has a big problem. There is having different kingdoms. The old king was died, the prince uncle want to be a new king, so he find several ways to kill the prince. The prince, Telmarina, he tries to summon help. Before 1300 years’ king and queen were already died, but actually they just go back their world. Now they go to Narnia again and help Telmarina to take his throne. Finally, Telmarina wins the fire, and he gives the peace for everyone in Narnia.
Reaction: This is following the first movie. I think that is really interesting, because after 1300 years everything is change, everything is different. I didn’t go back my country for one year five months. I can’t think about when I go back to my country, what kinds of change after I went to the USA, but I also like my country.

I watched to a Movie called "Monsters vs Aliens”
• Length

• Summary
On her wedding day, Susan is hit by a meteorite and it causes her to grow to an enormous size, because the meteorite has “Quantonium” a rare and powerful substance. She was captured by the government as a monster, and put in a very secret prison with other “monsters”. When a dangerous alien arrives on Earth to recover the “Quantonium” the monsters have to fight with he and save the world.
• Reaction /opinion
Monsters vs. Aliens is a 3-D movie so gives the illusion of reality and I really enjoy that. Also listed the laugh of children makes me laugh more.
Monsters vs. Aliens is also a family film and have a message with the main character, Susan. This message is be confident and don’t be afraid to re-think your goals in every moment, it does not care if you are in your comfort zone or not. You never know about the amazing things that can happen to you if you try.

I watched Lost

An air-plane crashed on an unidentified island. It’s about 48 people that can escape for the death and hang around the beach. Jack is a doctor who help all injure survivors. Asian couple stays together and far away from other survivors. Black guy and his son who has lost his mother in 2 weeks ago are finding his son’s dog. A girl named Kate, who sees smoke of other piece of the air-plane from the jungle. Jack wants to go there to get a transceiver which is only one way to connect to outsiders. Kate leads jack to where she sees the smoke. They find pilot who is still alive and transceiver. There is something that frightens them and kills the pilot. At the beach, there are 2 guys fighting on the beach. One of them, Sadi fixes the transceiver that is not working at the first time. Jack is busy with the wounded who is come with Kate. As soon as the transceiver get fix, they head into the high mountain to pick up the signal. On their way up to the mountain, they are attacked by a huge polar bear. The bear got shot by a white guy who has a gun. They pick up the signal from a France girl who had left her fearful message in 16 years ago. Then they got back to the beach with nothing. Jack finds out about Kate’s past from the wounded that she must do something bad. He doesn’t care. All survivors have a good relationship even if they have an argument sometime.
Reaction:
I liked this movie because it show how people react when they are in situation between death or live.
I watched Heroes

This movie about extroordinary peopel who have special gifts. It starts about six months ago when extroordinary notice that there is something wrong with their bodies such as able to read people mind, able to paint the future. These people freak out about these ability, however, a dactor knows all this accasion. He tries to warn extroordirary people to know and tell them how to deal with it. There is a guy who can kill people by using his eyes. He tries to get rid of extroordiry people for some reasons. Polises try to stop him but it's hard to catch him because after he killed his victim he leaves nothing to police.
Reaction:
I love this movie because i'm a gartoon big fan so i love everything that is impossible or incredible things.

Generally She talked about rich or developed countries should help poor countries, health care in poor or developing countries and also how great of China handled with their crisis, SAR which spread throughout the area. She mentioned what if it happens in the US, how will the US handle it?
Reaction:
I think so that rich countries should help poor countries, but in other way. They shouldn't give them money, but they should help them by stop hurting them and also help their economy by do business with them without take advantage of them. However, the money that Obarma set up to help poor country is only small amount,obviously it's not enough to help as he meant to. Question is what is that money for. Is it because he has to, or because make him look good.

Summary:
One day, when Julie came back home, she found her son disappear. She went around to find her son but she didn’t find her son so she called the police. After a few days, the police told Julie they had found her son and would bring her son back. However, when police brought her son back, she found that the boy was not her son so she was very disappoint but police told all media that the boy was Julie’s son in order to prove that their effective was high. Thus, Julie came to police station many times to beg them to find her son or she would tell media everything was fake. However, police told media Julie had mad because she couldn’t know her son and sent her to hospital. However, there was a pastor who helped Julie but they found Julie’s son had died.
Reaction:
This movie is sad movie but reflect the dark side of society but nobody dare to against it except Julie. Julie’s motivation is to find her son. Therefore, we can find that mother’s love is great and mother can do everything for their children even against society. They don't care as long as can save their children.

• Summary
This movie is the third part of the movie series “Transporter”. In this movie the transporter is a man (Frank) that should transport Valentine. She is the Minister’s daughter, and she is hostage because Jack (bad man) wants to legalize a toxic product. Also, he has a bracelet and if he or she go out more than 25 feet they will blew.
Frank who want to intercept Valentina's safe delivery and not let his personal feelings get in the way of his dangerous objective. Finally they can safe valentine’s life and answer all the problem without legalizes this product.
Reaction /opinion
This movie is amazing, the media effect and the violence scene involve the watcher. Also, the mix between action and romance is amazing. 100% recommended

I went to a conference of Laurie Garret called "The coming Plague”
• Length
1 hour and half.
• Summary
First of all, Lurie Garret is a senior fellow on Foreign Relations. Also, she is a best seller and she is an honor graduating in Biology. In her resume she has worked in BBC radio in a science program.
She talks about the challenges in the world where we can find: The emergence of HIV/AIDS. In Africa around 12 million of children have lost one parent by HIV.
In the same way, she talks about the high rise of price of the food. For example: the rice, corn, etc. One of the reason is China have changed their eating habits.
Third, she talks about the expectative of life, and then she says that after 1950 the expectative have grown principle in the First world countries. For example in a Rich country is 66,1 year while in a poor country is just 34 year. Therefore we should pay attention on this.
After this she talks about the environment; about the air, water, and she give an example in China. Finally she makes a conclusion: The change is our responsibility
Reaction /opinion
The topic was interesting. However, she talked very fast and she shows just the problem but she doesn’t show solutions. I like but I think that could be more specific.

The movie comments the story about a lion, a lion, a zebra, a giraffe, a hippo, and they are best friends and stars of the show in New York zoo. But they travel to Africa because they are finding a miss friend. Then, they begin a new story there, and they will learn about normal animal life. Finally, they decide to stay there because they meet a lot of friends.
Reaction /opinion
I was laughing all the movie the character joked all the time. Also, I can see the relation between life in Africa and in a big city.

Also she suggest the audience to reduction in use plastic , because it pollutes the environment .
Then she respond the audience questions .
Opinion & Reaction :
Her presentation was very fast, but she is a great speaker. She talked like America is the best country and all countries need help from America. but at the seam time she against herself when she mention that Obama budget is not enough to solve all these challenges and she showed the audience how people in Hong Kong find out a solution for SARS problem without help from another country . She just show us the problems without solution .

In fact I did not like this kind of movie but when I borrow it I did not read the summary on the CD . anyway this movie was fanny I laugh when I watched Mogwais at the bar drink and smoke like real men .

Summary:
The story is about "Lost boys". The civil war broke out in Sudan 2times. The reasons are difference of religions and resources. Although there are a lot of resources in South Sudan, in north sudan's cace they really want to water to live.
A lot of people was died by the war. By kept war, the USA decided what help to Sudan, so some young Sudanese, who called "lost boys", were invited in USA to high quality educatation. However, they have a lot of difficulties to live in USA. One of them, name is pitter face of selection of one of the alternatives between study and work. Most lost boys want to work to send money to their country, but some boys want to keep studying. Moreover, they think that Lost boys are treated discriminately in new country.
This film is Lost boy's real lives.

The movie was about an idian man who had lived in Indian in a bad living conditions, which don't exist quality of live. Also,he raised in a indian slumb with his brother who has a strong personality. Overmore, he was working as a labor child with a lot of problems.Jamal met a girl who felt in love with her. Then he went to a "WHO WANT TO BE A MILLIONARIE SHOW", and won the show.
• Reaction /opinion
It was an interesting movie in which we can see the real child life in INDIA. The film is a refletion for everybody and see the poverty in the poor countries where doesn't have any children rights.

I went to a Cristian church with my mom's friends.

Last weekend, I went to a christian church. First of all I was listening the chirstian sermon by the pastor for 2 hours. He was talking about the holy week. He began the service by reading the bible while everybody was raising their hands signing the songs. After that, he was giving his opinion about the passage. In addition, he said how important is for us the holy week, and the sacrificied who jesus did to forgive us of yours sins.
• Reaction /opinion
It was a little bit boring because is different from my religion, but at the same time was new and interesting.
Also,I could understand the whole service and giving my opinion about it sahring with my mom friend's friends'.
Even thought I don't have the same religion I can learn and think about which is main point of religions. I think that the most important is have a faith.

I was listening this radio station in my way to UNCG from WS. On the radio the broadcaster was talking about those children who don't have parents for different reasons, drugs, no-money, etc.
Then, he was talking with a psychologist who describe how parents felt when they do this and how difficult is recover the damage in childrend mind.
Thus, a girl called and explained that she was orphan, because her parents were drug addicts, and all the sacrificed and damage her parents did in her. She found her parents and they didn't change their livestyles. She finally accepted that they have a big problem but she can't do anything for them.
• Reaction /opinion
It was really interesting to listed this kind of show because makes you think in appreciated your family, even if they are complicated.

UNCG lecture: Equal Rights in Public French Schools

Summary:
Three girls were expelled in a public middle school in France in 1989, because they didn't want to take off their Islamic headscarves.This case became a national debate in 1992, and the govenment made a law that was the girls who under 12 years old had to take off their headscarves in the public school. They thought the religous should be in your private place not public place.There was another reason that was the Muslim girls refused to take some classes such as swimming class. Now, the Muslim girls still can not wear ther headscarves in public school, but they can go to other schools in the country with their headscarves.
Reaction/Opinion:
There was a Muslim girl went to the lecture, and she was very angry. She said she didn't agree with the perfessor said they wore the headscarves that was their culture. She said that was their passion for religous. I think the perfessor just discribed a case in france, and how it happened in france. I also agree with france government said "your religous should be in your private place not in public place."

Summary:
The factory put chemical in the meat, because they want the meat to look red, like hot dog. These chemical will let the meat looking pretty, but also cause cancer to human.
We ate many things that have trans fat, like cakes,and fly chickens. Trans fat will cause heart disease, cancer,clogged arteries, birth defects...etc. Trans fat also double the risk of heart disease in women. We can avoid the trans fat from don't eat fast foods, buying freash food and vegetables, avoiding the processed foods, and read ingredient labels.
Other vedios are talking about how the company reared the chickens, pigs, cows, and turkeys that we ate every day. They treated these animals as products. They hit them, and they didn't offer them a good environment. Many little turkeys died, because the factory used mechine to select them. They put pig in the boiled water, but they still lived. This is the meat that we ate every day.
Reaction/Opinion:
Actually it is very hard for me to judge them, because I eat meat. I don't know I will change my mind or not. I only can say they were sick, because it was not mecessary to hit these animals after all they will die.

summary:
Laurie Garrett warns us few emerging health problems, especially for infectious diseases.
Since 1970s, AIDS killed at least 26 million people, more than 12 million children, and the virus affect 40 million people today.
SARS in 2003, China hided the truth that many people had SARS, and they started to solve the problem that was very late. This caused SARS infected many countries around China. Diseases affect whole societies, not just people. We should improve the health system in the world, especially for those poor countries.
Opinion & Reaction:
I remember there were many people died because SARS in 2003, and my country too. There were many people went to China, and they didn't know had disease there, because China government hided the truth. They didn't close the airport and warned other countries. There were also many people died in China, so I don't understand why they don't want the hopes from other countries. That why some people said"SARS is a biochemical weapon of China."

Summary:
This is a kind of movie , it made in 1976. It told about a child who he was born at six o'clock on 6th June. But there was a prediction of the devil , they said the child is the devil because his birthday number is 666 , that is devil's number. There was a priest told him that was not your son , they change your son and muder him when he was born. If you don't kill this child , this child will kill your wife and you .But his father didn't believe that. But when his wife dead he started to find the evidence. He found the number 666 on his son's head and he found a dead body of his real son and then he believed the prediction and want to kill the child who is the devil. He brought the child to the church , but he didn't kill the child .Because the police shot him before he kill the child.The ending was a funeral about the father and his wife and the devil still lived.
Opinion & Reaction:
This movie have two different copies, old and new. I watch both, and I think the old one is very funny, because everything looked very fake, inculding blood. The new one is better.

I watched a Movie called "Sex and the City”
• Length

• Summary
Carrie and Mr. Big makes the decision to get married. Carrie begins to plan a very big and elegant wedding just like she wants. Charlotte still trying to get pregnant. Samantha is in love. Miranda is thinking in Steve. Mr Big was intimidating in his third wedding and run away. Carrie feels humiliated and depressed and Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte decide to travel to Mexico with Carrie to the hotel where she was supposed to spend her honeymoon. When Carries returns, she hires the assistant Louise to help her to organize her life. Finally Carrie met Mr. Big in the penthouse that they bought, they speak a lot and get married in a simple ceremony just with her best friends.
• Reaction /opinion
In the movie finally happened the things that we always wait for in the serie. But this happens in a very hard way. When I went to this movie, I was waiting for black humor, funny and clever dialogues, but I found a lot of drama and tears.
